The Herrenchiemsee Festival is dedicated to the person of King Ludwig II and the history of the island.
It is our special concern to revive the ambience of that time through the intermission design, the liveried staff and much more.
We would be delighted if you could contribute to the special atmosphere of the festival with festive clothing or traditional costume.

 

Order tickets

Thanks to our ticket service, you will receive the concert tickets you require quickly and conveniently by post. It is also possible to book tickets online via print@home. There is a € 4 shipping and handling charge per order (not applicable for print@home). Tickets are also available at all advance booking offices connected to München Ticket (fees may vary).

 

Box office

The box office for the concerts on the Fraueninsel and Herreninsel is located at the harbor in Prien/Stock at the information desk in the Chiemsee Schifffahrt building and is open daily from 16:45 to 18:00 during the festival. Deposited tickets for short-term bookings and remaining tickets – if available – are available here. In addition, a box office for the concert on Fraueninsel will be set up in front of Frauenchiemsee Cathedral from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
There is no box office on Herreninsel.

 

Services

The purchase of concert tickets includes:

  • A one-off, all-day return trip to Herreninsel or Fraueninsel
  • Free parking at the large parking lot of the Prien/Stock harbor
  • Free admission to introductory lectures at 6 p.m. in the Unfinished Staircase (for concerts on Herreninsel) and at the Hotel Zur Linde (for concerts in Münster Frauenchiemsee), limited capacity
  • Free shuttle buses on Herreninsel for guests with restricted mobility
  • On the day of the event, you can purchase a discounted island ticket to visit the royal castle and the museums on Herreninsel at the information center on Herreninsel on presentation of your concert ticket.

 

Parking

Parking in the Chiemsee-Schifffahrt car park at the harbor in Prien/Stock will continue to be free of charge for guests of the Herrenchiemsee Festival in 2026.
Please note that parking tickets must be validated before leaving the car park. The following options are available:

  • At the harbor in Prien/Stock between 16:45 and 18:00: Chiemsee-Schifffahrt information desk / Herrenchiemsee Festival box office
  • On the ship during the return journey to Prien-Stock in the ticket office area

 

Please note

The concert starts at 7.00 pm

The crossing to the island is possible once a day on all scheduled boats. You can find out the exact times at chiemsee-schifffahrt.de.
Last departures for the concert:

  • Boat departure Prien/Stock – Herreninsel or Fraueninsel: 17.00, 17.30, 18.00 hrs.
  • Boat departure Gstadt – Herreninsel: 5.15 p.m. (only July 17 to 27)
  • Boat departure Gstadt – Fraueninsel: 4:50 p.m., 5:20 p.m., 5:50 p.m. (July 14 only)

Every day at 6 p.m., there is an introductory lecture lasting approximately half an hour on the respective concert: for performances at Herrenchiemsee Palace in the “Unfinished Staircase,” and for concerts at Frauenchiemsee Cathedral in the hall of the Hotel Zur Linde. You can reach the introductory lectures by boat at 5 p.m. from Prien/Stock and at 5:15 p.m. from Gstadt.

The concert break lasts approx. 45 minutes.

The Hall of Mirrors in Herrenchiemsee Palace is not air-conditioned. On hot days, the room temperature may rise accordingly.

We kindly ask you to evaluate the admission prices – regardless of the artistic offer – in connection with the above-mentioned services.

 

Return journey after the concert

After the concert, you will have plenty of time to catch your boat back.
For concerts in the Hall of Mirrors at Herrenchiemsee Palace (July 15 to 26), three boats will depart for Prien/Stock: the first boat approx. 30 minutes, the second boat approx. 45 minutes, and the third boat approx. 60 minutes after the final applause.
Another boat will depart for Gstadt approximately 40 minutes after the final applause and, if necessary, also for Fraueninsel. After the concert in Frauenchiemsee Cathedral (July 14 only), one boat will depart for Prien/Stock approximately 30 minutes after the final applause and approximately 30 minutes after the final applause for Gstadt.
