Martin Summer was born in Feldkirch and initially studied double bass at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory and successfully completed a course in choral conducting and church music. After completing his vocal studies at the University of Music Graz, he spent a year at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he already performed in numerous operas and concerts. He joined the ensemble of the Theater St. Gallen and then the Hamburg State Opera. Guest engagements have taken the artist e.g. to the Landestheater Salzburg, the Theater an der Wien, Hannover and, in the future, to Cleveland and the Vienna State Opera.
