La Folia Baroque Orchestra

La Folia - in the baroque era, this term stood for boldness, wildness, exuberance, merriment and, in general, for an artistic attitude of freedom and exuberant creativity.

Since its foundation in 2007, the La Folia Baroque Orchestra (LFBO) on period instruments with precisely these attributes has enlivened the international music scene and literally caused a sensation. Whether in chamber music or late baroque opulence, with instrumental music or in collaboration with vocal soloists, the young ensemble around founder and concertmaster Robin Peter Müller always stands for vital and rousing interpretations of 17th and 18th century music. Historically informed, the musicians of the La Folia Baroque Orchestra are always on the lookout for ways to make the emotions and content of past centuries tangible in the present. A vividness, vividness, joy of playing, but also respect for the music and the certainty of its intensive effect are views of the baroque period, which as insights form the basis of the interpretations of the La Folia Baroque Orchestra.

The La Folia Baroque Orchestra regularly collaborates with renowned instrumentalists and singers, including Hille Perl, the Vienna Boys Choir, Regula Mühlemann, Mahan Esfahani and Jan Vogler, Dorothee Oberlinger, Dorothee Mields, Anna Prohaska, Maurice Steger and Stefan Temmingh.

Founder and director Robin Peter Müller, born in Dresden, is one of the most sought-after musicians of his generation on both historical instruments and the modern violin. In a short time he has succeeded in creating a national and international sensation with the orchestra, while at the same time repeatedly enthusing audiences and the press.

In recent years, the La Folia Baroque Orchestra has gained a high reputation with the public and press for its sophisticated concert and recording projects as a distinguished and virtuoso ensemble.
