Salvador Mas Conde

Studied music at the Escolania de Montserrat and in Barcelona and study visits with Bruno Maderna, Salzburg and Franco Ferrara, Siena. Studies at the University of Music in Vienna with Hans Swarowsky, Karl Österreicher and Günther Theuring (orchestral and choral conducting). Prize winner of the Hans Swarowsky Conducting Competition.

Besides conducting all important Spanish orchestras, Salvador Mas Conde is internationally active as guest conductor. He is regularly invited to Japan, USA, Canada, Israel, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Poland and Mexico.

In Europe he has worked with orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic, the German Chamber Philharmonic, the Radio Symphony Orchestras of Berlin and Leipzig, the Frankfurt and Saarbrücken RSO; he was chief conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the Orfeó Català, the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, the Limburg Symphonie Orkest van Maastricht, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and the choir of the Städtischer Musikverein zu Düsseldorf, the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada.

In addition to his artistic activities, he has always attached great importance to teaching and was, among other things, Rector of the ESMUC, the Barcelona School of Music, until 2008 and, as successor to Hans Swarowsky, regular and much sought-after guest professor at the Vienna Master Classes.
