KlangVerwaltung Choir

The KlangVerwaltung Choir was founded by Enoch zu Guttenberg in the year 2000 and consists of professional, experienced young singers coming from choirs like the Munich Philharmonic Choir, the Bavarian Radio Chorus (“Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks”), the Collegium Vocale Gent and other renowned vocal ensembles. It thus represents an adequate vocal counterpart to the highly virtuoso KlangVerwaltung Orchestra, together with which it studies and performs works for choir and orchestra in an exemplary and authentic manner.

Right from the start at the Bach Festival on Herrenchiemsee Island in 2000, the new ensemble met the high expectations placed on it and received great praise from the press. Since 2001 the choir has been performing regularly under Enoch zu Guttenberg at the Herrenchiemsee Festival. The series of highly acclaimed performances includes the “Mass in E minor” by Anton Bruckner, “Fest- und Gedenksprüche” by Johannes Brahms, the “Choral Fantasy” by Ludwig van Beethoven as well as the “Mass in B minor” and the “6 Motets” by Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition, every year, on Frauenchiemsee Island, the choir performs Bach cantatas, a regular feature of the Festival’s opening concert.

However, the KlangVerwaltung Choir has made a name for itself far beyond the Herrenchiemsee Festival. The live recording of Beethoven’s “Missa solemnis” from the Herkulessaal in Munich, for example, has been published on CD. In 2010, the choir staged this work again at the Rheingau Music Festival at Eberbach Monastery. One of the choir highlights of 2011 was the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach staged in Stuttgart. The year 2012 revolved entirely around Beethoven with performances of his 9th Symphony in Regensburg, Nürnberg, Berlin and twice at the Herrenchiemsee Festival. In 2014, the KlangVerwaltung Choir achieved great success once again with Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, this time in Munich, Wiesbaden and Bad Kissingen.
